Visibility in Today's Crossroads |

The Marketplace:When Jesus said "go into the crossroads and compel them to come", I believe He was simply meaning two things: availability and visibility. In other words Jesus was telling the disciples through His parable, about the need, firstly, to make ourselves available for the sake of extending the Gospel, and secondly, to make ourselves visible. It is not enough to be available, people have to see you! I have heard from some church leaders comments in the line of "people know where we are, if they want to be saved they could come". The problem with this reasoning is that usually those who are lost do not know that they are lost, and even if they realize their situation, still they don't know where to go, simply because they are lost! Jesus knew what He was talking about: YOU have to go and meet them at the crossroads, meet them in their need, and bring them home. In today's world of globalization, where distances are no longer distant, and where the whole world is beginning to be spoken of in terms of the "global village", the Internet has become a major point in the crossroads of the world, to such extent that whatever we are looking for can be found searching the World Wide Web. The Commission:However, a note of advice from our experience with the Web: We should never, ever forget the human contact by using the Internet. One of the biggest mistake with church websites springs from a lack of actual presence. In other pages we deal with this issue a bit more in depth. Jesus gave His disciples tools to do the work; however, He commissioned the disciples -people- not the tools. A strong - and clear- presence in the Web, calls for a strong -and a highly accessible- human presence behind, in real time in the real world in the real street that leads to your church. The Means:Jesus knew how to use the "technology" available in His days. For example, He went into a boat while the crowd was ashore because the water table was a "resonance board" that projected His voice "rolling" back to the crowds. The "technological side" of His training to the disciples could be summarized like this: "use every available means" in order for your message to "resonate" to the multitudes. The Internet has become the main "resonating board" of these days, reaching to unsuspected corners of the world. Our desire is to help churches and ministries to create a point of visibility within the World Wide Web with the least possible hassle, and in an affordable way. We try to keep our prices low so that the service is accessible even for the smallest budgets. However, if your church or ministry cannot afford our cost, please feel free to contact us anyway and we will speak about ways we could help. Be Blessed and Be a Blessing! |
